Purpose of Role:
- To support in designing and managing the Food Security emergency response programme
- To build the capacity of staff and partners
- To ensure monitoring and evaluation requirements are met along with accountability requirements as project reporting.
Key Responsibility Areas: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programming in country context:

General management of the Food Security activities and strategy:
-
Ensure a consistent response and approach to the Food Security program and to the nutritional needs
-
Supervises the technical work of the Food Security teams in the field and provide adequate formal constructive feedback.

Ensure that the technical protocols, manuals, guidelines and forms used in the field are in line with international humanitarian standards.

Ensure frequent visits to the field, with visits to the Food Security activities at community level
-
Coordination
-
Support in identifying and participates to the Food Security, nutrition and health meetings with partners (NGOs, MoH, UNICEF, WFP, WHO, donors …)
-
Coordinate with the relevant authorities and local level, specifically EDO and PPHI.

Coordinate with the other relevant NGOs, UNICEF and WFP.

Collect data from formal or informal meeting with other partners to get information on the nutrition needs in other areas of the country, and propose actions (assessments, surveys, program implementation) accordingly

To build the capacity of staff and partners

Build capacity of staff and partner staff to increase their effectiveness in nutrition interventions.

Identify and support local partners to assist with implementation of programme.

To ensure monitoring and evaluation requirements are met along with accountability requirements as per project reporting

Carry out regular and timely monitoring of project activities to ensure compliance to timeframes, and efficiency and effectiveness in addressing the Food Security needs of the affected population.

Maximise beneficiary participation in project implementation and ensure compliance

Ensure compliance with minimum standards, such as Sphere guidelines
-
Support in designing and implementing a baseline survey, where necessary.

Work with the team to ensure timely reporting on programme activities, programme evaluation and donor reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
-
Minimum three years’ experience of nutrition programs at national coordination level (with at least 2 years’ experience in program implementation).

xperience with capacity building of health systems in developing contexts an advantage.
-
Experience in coordination of humanitarian programs.
-
Minimum Bachelor in medical sciences, nursing, or social sciences or equivalent experience in nutrition considered. Master’s Degree in Public Health considered an advantage.

Significant experience in development and recovery project management.
-
Excellent human resource management skills.
-
Advanced knowledge of donors’ guidelines/procedures in humanitarian, recovery, and development settings.
-
Experienced in working with private funding and foundations.
-
Excellent delegation, organizational, leadership and motivation/training skills.
-
Strong interpersonal/coordination skills within teams and for good relations with partners and authorities.
-
Must be disciplined and able to work autonomously and arrive at decisions and conclusions with minimal guidance.

The person must be able to set own deadlines and meet them consistently.

Respect of traditions and cultural sensitivity

Fluent in English (professional English required). Excellent writing and formatting skills essential.
