Mega Event of Ideas presentation:

Monday, 22nd April 2019 at 14:00–18:00

Address: Auditorium, National Headquarters, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Ashfaq Ahmed Rd, H-8/2, Islamabad Capital Territory

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in partnership with German Red Cross, under its dedicated Climate Change Programme is committed to strengthening institutional and individual capacities to help combat climate change challenges. Youth is one of the key focus areas of PRCS where it now engages with and capacities youth and volunteers in relation to the climate change debate. With the “Climathon” event, Pakistan Red Crescent Society gives young people the chance to develop business ideas that contribute to tackling climate change. Living in environmentally challenging times calls for climate friendly change and innovation. For young minds in our society, a low-carbon future, coupled with a clean environment, provide a safer environment. PRCS is promoting green entrepreneurship through the “Climathon – Y Accelerator Challenge” which is a concept based on a pitch model, where aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with sustainable green business concepts will benefit.

Climathon is a competition for innovative green ideas. The Y accelerator challenge is a premier start-up competition that puts selected pitches in front of sector experts, presenting 3-5 minute pitches. The event will bring together investors, founders, and start-up enthusiasts to witness visionaries pitch their ideas. Based on the relevance of the selected ideas, PRCS will assist green entrepreneurs by not only providing them with seed money but also link them up with the industry to promote, sustain and scale-up the ideas.
