About the webinar

NHN under the banner of PRP and with the technical support of IASC has organized an orientation webinar on Gender Age Marker, PSEA with in AAP, Disability Inclusion and Respect for Diversity. The objective of the webinar is to orient partners on importance of gender equality in any humanitarian action so that the current floods response can be designed and implemented in light of these principals to avoid any exclusion and discremination.

About the Facilitator

Hadia Nusrat is a professional with more than 23 years of experience that is dominated by gender, child rights and protection, democratic governance, and sector specific social development portfolios. Provided high-level policy advisory, technical, capacity development, & consultancy services to government, multilateral and bilateral organizations, academic institutions, NGOs, CBOs, private sector and media. Designed, managed, and provided oversight to high-profile programs/projects with engagement with of government and donor organizations from a gender and social inclusion perspective in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Asia Pacific. Her work entails providing technical support to decisions makers of UN Agencies, government disaster management departments and donor community bridging the contexts of development and humanitarian in gender informed response and resilience. She has trained across the Asia region on gender mainstreaming issues with local civil society and government disaster response departments

National Humanitarian Network Pakistan

A volunteer network, founded in 2010 in result of interactive dialogue in National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) “to act as an independent and vibrant voice to engage with stakeholders throughout Pakistan for promotion of humanitarian values by influencing policies and building capacities to ensure right based humanitarian response”. 172 humanitarian organizations are members of NHN from across Pakistan and it is open for all national and local organizations engaged in humanitarian assistance or disaster management advocacy.  NHN focus on “Effective and Accountable Humanitarian Governance” – mainly in Response and Disaster Preparedness through four major areas i.e. “Coordination/networking, Advocacy, Capacity Building and Information Management”.

NHN is a key network in Pakistan which is well connected with various stakeholders and demonstrated its effectiveness to do proper advocacy and lobbying for access, space and principled response. NHN supports stakeholders in collecting and timely sharing of critical information for preparedness and response as its members are spread across Pakistan and even in hard to reach areas.
